MUSLIM IN PHUKET

                There is no evidence when Islamic religion comes in Phuket. The existing of Islam in Phuket has been Muslim community. 

The Muslim community might be located here because the border of Phuket is next to Malaysia and Singapore. The travel and commerce might lead Malay people sttle down in Phuket. In addition, the history of Talang ton during 1759-1767 also pointed that Muslin has been in Phuket since Ayudhaya period.

                According Kasem Kusalamut, Thai-Muslim people in Phuket has been divided into two groups: from Malaysia and Arab. He noticed that Male-Muslim outfit consisted of a black taqiyah which has been worn by Malay people. It is different from Arab that Male-Muslim wear white taqiyah. At present, there is no black taqiyah as Muslim people go to Hajj in Saudi Arabia; Muslim in Phuket wear white taqiyah and dressing culture from Saudi Arabia. Nowadays; the preach has been translated from Arab to Thai language, instead of from Arab to Malay.

                At present, there are a lot of Muslim family in Phuket in Ampur Muang in Baan Boe Raem, Baan Awe Nam Boe, Baan Lam Pan Wa, Baan Awe ma Kam, Baan Sai Yuan, Baan koe Kaew, Koe ma Prao, Koe Laon, and Baan Bang kon Tee. In Ampur Talng, Muslim live in Baan

Bang Tao, Baan Bang Joe, Baan Bang La, Baan Pad Ched, Baan Ya Moo, Poe Bay, Krung Bay, Naka Island, Lam Sai, Baan Bang Rong, Baan Bang Pae, Tor Kun Bay, Baan Kor Ain, Baan Para, Baan Prusompan, and Baan Bang Ma Lao. Muslim in Ampur Katue are in Baan Kommala, Baan Patong, and Baan Kalim. Every village has its mosque for religion activity.

Day 1: Phuket airport- check in hotel (D)

Meet & greeting by our tour guide; pick you up from Phuket transfer to dinner at Muslim restaurant and check in at hotel of your choice.

Day 2: Phi Phi Islands Tour (B+L+D)

07.00-7.15 Am. Pick up from the hotel to Ongkarn Harbor.

08.30 Departure from Ongkarn Harbor to Phi Phi Island. Complimentary coffee, tea and dessert are service on board

09.50 The Cruise departs from Phuket heading to Phi Phi Lay islands group.(Traveling time by Cruise to Phi Phi island takes approximately 1.30 Hour)

10.00 Start Sightseeing pass PhiPhi Le Islands. (Loh Sama Bay, Maya Bay, Viking Cave & Peleh Cove) Snorkeling & swimming at Monkey Bay.

12.30 Enjoy Delicious Buffet Lunch Phi Phi Restaurant. After lunch time you'll have free time for sightseeing or shopping on Phi Phi Don island.

14.30 Departs from Phi Phi don island. (Please stand by on the boat at 14.00Pm.) 

16.00 Arrive at Ong Karn Harbor and transfer to your hotel in Phuket.

Day 3: Phang Nga Bay Tour (B+L+D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

10.00-10.30 AM. Pick up from your hotel by Air con mini bus. Head forward toPhang Nga bay by coach or minivan. Visit Suwannakuha Temple (Monkey Cave Temple), exploring Buddha cave, stalactites, Stalagmites, a lot of monkeys will be waiting to welcome you in front of the temple. A good time for photo taking. Sightseeing around Phang Nga Bay en-route National Park, Mangrove Swamps. Visit the renowned "Lord Cave" Canoeing & sightseeing inside the cave. When you emerge from the cave, observe the rocky statue of the Khao Ma Ju, Khao Nom Sao and Khao Chang. You can see glimpse of daily life in Sea-Gypsy Village and pass two mountains of Khao Ta Poo before reaching the island of Ping-Kan, better known as James Bond Island.

13.00 PM.   Enjoy your lunch with fresh seafood. (Muslim Halal Food or Vegetarian food on request) at Panyee Island (fisherman floating Village) and free time for sightseeing on The Island

14.30 PM.   Depart from Pan Yee Island

15.00 PM.   Return to the pier 

17.30-18.00 PM.  Arrive to hotel in Phuket

19.00PM. Pick up time for dinner at local Muslim restaurant and free time at leisure.
